Often, stones also are placed–and left for a period of time–on certain body parts such as the spine, hands or belly, and replaced once they cool. This provides a deeper massage and stimulates blood flow. Cool stones may also be used to address muscle injury.
Prossage is a therapeutic warming ointment which is used for myofascial release, deep tissue work and trigger-point therapy by the massage therapist. Prossage is an area-specific warming ointment, not an all-over bodywork oil. Prossage along with massage oil is massaged into a targeted area and followed with hot towels and Biofreeze cooling gel.
During a prenatal massage, the massage therapist will apply light pressure using Swedish massage techniques to relax tense muscles. The massage will focus on making the expecting mother relaxed by finding comfortable positions to achieve the most effective and stress-free massage.
